Sarcidano: nuraghe , traditions and handicrafts

Our itinerary starts with Santa Vittoria Nuragic complex, in Serri Giara . The area is well-known for the pit temple still in perfect state of conservation, but in the surrounding there are remains of many sacred areas.

We'll then stop at the Nuraghe Arrubiu in Orroli, called the “Red Giant” because of the color of the lichens living on its stones. It's the biggest prehistoric complex of Sardinia , with an area of more than 5,000 sq m.

Our last stop will be in Isili, where we'll visit the Copper and Textiles Museum . It keeps memories of the two handicraft sectors of the area in a enchanting mixture of past and present. Traditional symbols are woven into arrases made not only of wool, but also in linen and cotton, and with unusual materials like copper, silver and gold threads.
